#1 Mini heart lace mug cozy
The mini heart mug cozy is a lovely and easy pattern, perfect for a handleless mug or cup. The main part of the sleeve is made using a combination of the single and double crochet stitches creating an elegant but discreet lace like effect. It is decorated with a mini heart for a more minimalist look – but you can go ahead and add as many hearts as you wish! It measures 7cm in height (just under 3 inches) and is around 23cm (around 9 inches) long all round.

#2 Amigurumi ‘Book lover’ Bookmark
Another quick pattern where you can even use some yarn scraps! This is a perfect idea for a cute amigurumi to go along with a book. It would make a lovely gift combination for the book lover in your life. You can also make it even more personalised and match the amigurumi book mark to the colours of the front cover of the book.

#3 Crocheted napking rings
These ‘braided’ crochet napkin rings are perfect for any occasion but even more so for the festive season! You can make these napkin rings in a single colour or using three colours for a more colourful look. You can match your yarn to the colour of your tablecloth or use a colour to match a celebration, like Christmas, Valentine’s or anything else!
This free crochet napkin rings pattern uses the crochet cables technique. You will find making this pattern easier if you already know how to make the front and back post double crochet as well as the front and back post treble crochet (US terminology).

Could not get more Christmassy than a present featuring Christmas trees! So why not give tapestry crochet a go and make your loved one a pretty and festive pouch. You can add their favourite chocolates, bath products or other goodies for a complete present they will love!

#5 Thistle flower headband
A headband is a great gift for the winter months! You can create a beatiful one with a floral theme, featuring Scotland’s national flower: the thistle. You can make this into a monochrome headband or make the stems and flowers in the traditional green and purple so that the flowers stand out.
